PNGRFL Should introduce the 4 Region Test Challenge.
This challenge should be played between the Momase, Highlands, Niugini Islands, and Southern Region. Such a challenge will truly draw in competent players from all around the country to take part in it. It will fetch out hidden talents from areas where rugby league is not favored.
Each region should have its test match so it can select its best players to feature its team in the 4 Region challenge.
For example clash of the Highlanders, all Highlands provinces will play against each other to select the best players from each province to form the team for Highlands Region. The combined team could be named The Highlanders.
The second example is Southern Region. This particular region, they have a distinctive case. Multiple provinces in this region don't have a team in the Digicel cup competition.
Rugby league is not widespread in places like Milne Bay, Western, and Oro province, I stand corrected if I am mistaken. So if there could be a Southern territory test challenge, you will snag a glimpse of Milne bay bringing out their best players, Oro and Western would do the exact while Gulf, NCD, and Central will fall in line.
When these provinces play each other, their best will be selected to represent the Southern Region, possibly their team could be called the Southern Fuzzy.
Altogether when all these 4 regions play each other, the best from each region should be selected to form an ultimate team and that team should be the main contender to challenge the PNG Hunters as this would truly test the supreme ability of the PNG Hunters squad.
There should be eligibility rules, a player can only play for a province by birthright or family heritage.
